Family-Targeted Advertising Agency Steel Branding Receives Mentor Protégé Program Sponsorship from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles

AUSTIN, Texas (July 5, 2018) – Award-winning Austin-based full-service advertising agency, Steel Branding, announced its sponsorship as a participant in the Texas Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Mentor Protégé Program from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. Steel Branding has also been selected to mentor a protege, Urban Circle, LLC, to teach best practices and share its successes with government outreach and marketing.

“The Steel Branding team is committed to ideas that truly make an impact and drive results for our clients. We are excited to work with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles,” said Kirsten Cutshall, Steel Branding Chief Executive Officer. “We believe that better vendor choices deliver stronger results for Texas.”

As specialists in family marketing, one of Steel’s core competencies is working with government agencies. Steel has previously partnered with both DMV and DPS as mentors in the Mentor Protégé Program. With 10 years’ experience as a prime HUB, our team believes that broadening the pool means better results and opportunities to share best practices. Steel Branding has clients in higher education and various state agencies, supported by an experienced government team who understand the contributions that these organizations are making to improve our communities.

The purpose of the Mentor Protégé Program is to assist in fostering long-term relationships between Prime Contractors and Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs). The ultimate goal of the program is to provide developmental assistance to HUBs that will potentially increase their ability to contract directly with the State and/or to obtain subcontracting opportunities under a state contract.

“Working with Steel Branding has far more than exceeded our expectations. Steel provides us assistance with all the details that we inquire. Executing sales calls, marketing strategies and partnering on big projects are just some of the activities that we are involved with,” said Urban Circle Owner, Brown Henderson. “It is certainly a pleasure to work with the team at Steel Branding and we look forward to continuing our relationship.”

The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) is a dynamic state agency dedicated to customer service, consumer protection and the success of motor vehicle-related industries. It is one of only a handful of state agencies that raises revenue for the state. The TxDMV is overseen by a nine-member, governor-appointed board that is the agency’s policy-making arm. Each year the agency registers almost 24 million vehicles; regulates vehicle dealers; credentials buses and big trucks for intrastate and interstate commerce; issues oversize and overweight permits; and awards grants to law enforcement agencies to reduce vehicle burglaries and thefts.
