27 Aug Reaching a New Millennial Mom: Why Social Media Ads Matter
As a new millennial mom, my brain is constantly consumed by all things baby all the time. And I’m not the only one- 83% of new moms are millennial moms. Personal time is very rare and short-lived. There are two things new millennial moms do with that rare personal time: google search trying to find a magical product or answer that is going to make your family’s life easier or scroll social media.
How do these two things correlate and why do they matter to a marketer? Social media ads and retargeting! When I find that one product that is supposed to change my baby’s life, then it shows up on my Facebook feed, it’s fate that I should buy it right?
No, it’s a marketer retargeting their ads. They track where you visit and then displaying those ads on other sites to keep getting your attention.
When targeting a new millennial mom, social media ads should be a critical component of your marketing strategy. 90% of moms have social media accounts and Facebook specifically accounts for 78% of social media usage. The reality is social media is how we stay up-to-date with our friends and families. And, as a millennial mom, seeing those ads for a magical product over and over on my Facebook feed compels me to hit “add to cart.”
Millennial moms have over 2.4 trillion in spending power. So, when building your marketing plan, don’t forget a critical component- social media ads.
